Children's books in the family's voices

A bedtime story, in Grandma's voice.

Grandma, Grandpa or anyone who loves them reads them a real book, even when they're far away.

How does it work?

  1. Pick a book

One your children already love. Take a photo of the cover, and that's it.

  2. The book goes to Grandma

On the next visit, or she has her own copy. She reads from the book itself.

  3. Grandma records

She opens the link and reads aloud, and her phone records. No app, no fuss.

  4. The children listen

They turn the pages, and a little chime tells them when. On a phone or a tablet, even offline.

Why parents love it

  • Your own books

Any book you have at home, in any language. The books your children already love.

  • Eyes on the book, not the screen

The phone or tablet only plays the voice. The children look at the pages.

  • Voices they know and love

Grandma, Grandpa, Dad, an aunt. Every book in the voice of someone close.

And how did it start? Meet Geffen

This is Geffen.

And he loves books.

Lots of books.

Mom and Dad read to him every evening.

But when Grandma comes to visit, he's already waiting for her with a book in his hand.

And between visits…

“Grandma, will you read to me?”

“Next visit, sweetheart.”

For his fourth birthday, Mom had an idea.

She gave everyone in the family one of his books, and asked: read it to him.

Each of them opened the book they were given,

and recorded it for Geffen.

On his birthday, Geffen got a whole library

in the voices of everyone he loves.

Now, every time Geffen opens the book,

Grandma is there.

And now, it's your turn

Geffen
